Persona

This persona Earl was based off users needing a programming tool that would help them simulate logical programming. After many workshops we were asked to develop a way to simulate logic in the CHEC app to increase production and safety.

In the past this logic took 6 months to program, now it only takes a week since the internal engineer can build their own logic.

Description

As a CHEC+ user, I need to simulate the behavior of outputs, particularly those controlled by single inputs or conditions. This will allow me to validate the behavior of my logic.

Acceptance Criteria
  • Existing C+ simulation area expanded to enable CHEC+ TDEA user to:
  • Clearly understand if an output is on, off, or in another state.
  • Include service outputs.
  • Support Single inputs
  • Support single conditions
  • This includes output condition carried from a timer.

Design System

I created a design library which supports visual and interaction design in Figma. This library is an hybrid based on icons from Google Material and engineering known artifacts.

Deliverables

I supported the engineering and product owners with observational insights, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, branding, and design assets.

Results

Users were very content with the ability to program and control their own logic. This simulation feature increased their ability to build, support, and produce more semi-trailer truck vehicles.
